Use quilting stencils and pounce to mark the outline to felt with roving.
If you have not used the pounce, the white pounce is like a chalk but it irons off beautifully.
Simply bang it on the table up to 50 times to bring the pounce into the felt pad.
Then wipe the felt pad over the stencil.
It is really amazing how well it marks and even more amazing when you iron over it and it completely disappears!
In the picture below you see the right and wrong sides of the shawl.
